...christoph nasfeter, who was born in warsaw, lives since 1980 in ulm.
the artist set important creative accents in the city, consistently drawing attention on
himself with new picture concepts. on the part of museums of ulm appreciation is
paid by several purchases of nasfeters work.
the art of christoph nasfeter does not know a stood still. he is using digital technique
of the computer for his new, large sized pictures. picture portions like jigsaw pieces,
using cross fading, coupled with text (without point and comma) result in a compositional
picture unit. the artist distinguishes himself by reflecting on his concepts before realizing
them for a long time. christoph nasfeters work is known for his aesthetic quality,
but more importantly the work is a result of a constant argument on the question:
what is the role of art in today's society?
his central topics are: the art in relation to consumer goods, a rampant supermarket mentality,
an increasing cultural leveling which results in the question: where remains the spirit?
nasfeter sets these subjects with an reserved and ironical view in scene.
